2. Which rules apply
We are based in Mauritania and process data in line with Mauritanian Law No. 2017-020 on the protection of personal data. Because our website is also aimed at buyers in the European Union, we also apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to visitors from the EU.
3. Visiting the website (hosting)
Our website is hosted by Hostinger. When you open a page, the server automatically records technical data in log files:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- the page you opened and the page you came from
- browser and operating system
We need this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure, for example against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted automatically after a short period set by the host. We do not combine them with other data.
4. Contact form and email
If you send us an enquiry through the form or by email, we process the data you give us: name, company, email address, phone number, country and the details of your enquiry (species, volume, destination, message).
We use this data only to answer your enquiry and to prepare an offer or a contract. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep enquiries as long as needed to handle them and for as long as commercial law requires us to keep business correspondence.
The form sends your message to our email address through a form service (Web3Forms). The service only passes the message on and does not use it for its own purposes.
5. WhatsApp
Our website contains links to WhatsApp. Nothing is sent to WhatsApp when you visit our website. Only when you click a WhatsApp link does WhatsApp open, and the privacy policy of WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) applies to the chat. If you prefer, write to us by email instead.
6. Statistics without cookies
To see how our website is used, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not create profiles of individual visitors. We only see summary figures, for example the number of visits, the countries and the pages opened. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Cookies, fonts and images
Our website does not set any cookies. Fonts and images are stored on our own server, so no data is sent to font or image providers when you visit. Some photos come from Wikimedia Commons; they are also stored on our server.
8. Transfers outside your country
We work from Mauritania, and some of our service providers may process data outside the European Union. Where this happens, we use the safeguards provided for by law, such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- know which data we hold about you (access)
- have wrong data corrected
- have your data deleted
- restrict the processing
- receive your data in a common format (portability)
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest
- withdraw a consent at any time
To use these rights, write to info@profundor.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the authority in your EU country or the Mauritanian data protection authority.
